I’ll always remember Julian’s enthusiastic support as I moved from schoolboy cricket into playing regularly for OMTCC. He even invited me to play at The Oval for Hill Oldridge one year. But my favourite sports playing memory involving Julian was when I played in his OMT hockey 4th XI. I was still very young to be playing adult sport but I loved the approach each week - all welcomed and enjoyment more important than the result (or atleast that’s how I remember it!). Each week it was pub lunch, poor hockey on a grass pitch, then back to the pub whatever the result with Julian, as always, generously buying many of the drinks. Cheers Hartley 🍻
